Yogurt is a staple in my diet as a breakfast or snack. I especially love whole-milk Greek yogurt. I love its creaminess and appreciate the extra protein and fat, which help keep me full longer. Why I Love ALDI’s Whole Milk Greek Yogurt
The yogurts come in two varieties: key lime and toasted coconut vanilla. In addition to being Greek and full-fat, I love that they’re flavored and are single-serve, so there’s no need to dirty a bowl when I’m hungry.
At 70 cents for 5.3 ounces, they’re roughly the same price per ounce as ALDI’s 32-ounce tubs of Greek yogurt. Both varieties of these yogurt cups are thick and smooth, with enough sweetness to satisfy without being overwhelming. The key lime is flavorful but not too tangy, and the toasted coconut vanilla is delicate with no off-putting artificial coconut taste.
Tips for Topping This Yogurt
If not eating the yogurt plain, I usually pair it with original Cheerios for fiber and crunch. I also love fruit in my yogurt, typically fresh strawberries, blueberries, or diced apples. Alternatively, I’ve combined the key lime yogurt with graham crackers for a key lime pie effect, either breaking the crackers into small pieces and mixing them into the yogurt or dipping them into the yogurt cup. I also love mixing in Bob’s Red Mill Lemon Blueberry Granola for a double citrus effect.
To enjoy the toasted coconut vanilla flavor, combine it with ALDI’s Coconut Chia Granola for an outstanding double coconut punch. Or, if you don’t like granola, I’d recommend adding mini dark chocolate chips and slivered almonds to create an Almond Joy flavor. Or just stick to the chocolate for a Mounds vibe (as the commercial goes, “sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t”).
Since these yogurts are thick, you may enjoy putting them in the freezer for a DIY frozen yogurt, doctoring them up with toppings right before serving. Whatever you do, just make sure you buy a few at a time—if you’re like me, you’ll eat one every single day.
