Certain packages of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix have been recalled by the Quaker Oats Company this week. The boxes might contain milk, which is not listed in the ingredients panel.
The recalled mix is a 32-ounce (two-pound) red cardboard box that could have been purchased on November 18, 2024, or later.
The recalled mix has a “best by” date of September 13, 2025. The date is written as SEP 13 25 P and is located on the top of the box. The recalled product has a UPC of “30000 65040,” which is stamped on the bottom of the box.

For people with an allergy or serious sensitivity to milk, using this product could trigger a severe, life-threatening reaction. While sometimes reactions can be mild, the only way to treat a milk allergy is by avoiding all products that contain milk. So far, no allergic reactions to the product have been reported, the company said in a release.
Quaker was alerted to the ingredient by one of the company’s retail partners. The recalled products were distributed to retailers in 11 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin. No other products or mixes from Pearl Milling Company or the Quaker Oats Company have been recalled.
Pearl Milling Company was formerly known as Aunt Jemima until the line was rebranded in 2021. The Pearl Milling Company was the business that created the original pancake mix in the late 1800s.
