700 Cases of Bite-Size Pancakes Recalled for Undeclared Allergens
On February 18, Naturipe Value Added Fresh LLC recalled nearly 700 cases of Berry Buddies, Berries & Pancakes bento box snack packs from the refrigerated section at Kroger and Meijer stores across 13 states. The company reported that the packaging did not explicitly say the pancakes contained wheat and eggs. Both ingredients are among the top nine most common food allergens. Consuming this item could lead to severe allergic reactions in individuals with wheat and egg allergies.

Mini Dessert Cones Recalled For Possible Allergen Presence
On February 21, Kayco recalled its Glicks Dark Chocolate Conettos because some packages may contain Milk Chocolate Conettos—despite the packaging saying otherwise. Those with severe allergies to milk could experience a life-threatening reaction if they eat milk chocolate conettos thinking they are eating the dark chocolate (and milk-free) version.

Trader Joe’s Popular Frozen Treat Recalled for Potentially Containing Plastic
On February 14, Trader Joe’s pulled its Organic Açai Bowls With Berries, Banana, Granola, and Dried Coconut from the freezer section. In an announcement, the company wrote: “Out of an abundance of caution, please discard any Trader Joe’s Organic Açai Bowls, as the product may contain foreign material (plastic), or return them to your neighborhood Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.”
