As a recipe developer, I have an extensive spice collection. There was a point where finding the right jar started to feel like an archaeological dig. But last year, I finally organized everything. I bought a cute set of spice containers and transformed a wide, shallow drawer into an alphabetically ordered, aesthetically pleasing spice haven.
Then, I organized all of the remaining spices in my pantry using these helpful three-tiered spice racks from Dollar Tree. For $1.25, this step-up shelf unit has helped me create a spice system—and made me feel like I have my kitchen under control again.

Dollar Tree Essentials Wire Step Storage Racks
Price: $1.25 for 1 rack
Why I Love It: These tiered wire racks are useful to have all around my house, but especially in the kitchen, where I use them to organize spices, canned goods, and more.
Why I Love Dollar Tree’s Tiered Storage Racks
These tiered organizers deliver way more value than their price tag suggests. I use them to sort my overflow spices, canned goods, and more. The coated white wire construction is sturdy enough to support everything from heavy glass jars to small canned goods without buckling. The three-tier design elevates items in the back, making everything visible.
They’re also surprisingly versatile. I started with a couple for my spices, then quickly returned for a few more because I kept discovering new ways to use them throughout my home. They work beautifully in my pantry to organize small dry goods, store yogurts and condiment jars in my downstairs fridge, and declutter my bathroom countertops by corralling small toiletries.
My husband—who initially teased me about my excitement over “just some wire shelves”—now has one on top of a filing cabinet in his office for organizing small supplies and tech accessories.
Creative Ways I’ve Put These Racks To Work
The spice cabinet was just the beginning. Late last year, when our espresso machine broke, we resorted to using a K-cup machine. To create a temporary, low-profile organizer for our coffee pods, I cut off the back legs of one of these organizers with a wire cutter to put it on the same plane as the front legs, flipped it upside down, and put it into a drawer. This simple modification kept our coffee pods in one easy-to-find spot.
In my pantry, I’ve placed two side-by-side to create additional raised space for canned items like beans, tomatoes, vinegar, and specialty sauces. This prevents me from buying duplicates because I can easily see what I already have.
For $1.25 and a little creativity, I’ve got a helpful, multi-purpose organizational tool. If you spot these racks during your next Dollar Tree run, you now have many ideas to put them to good use!
