I am a mason jar devotee who owns dozens of different sizes. Their simple, practical design, sturdiness and durability, and interchangeable lids mean that I use them for everything from storing leftovers and drinking smoothies to shaking up homemade dressings.\n<\/p>\n
For a long time, I just walked past the decorative mason jar lids at the Dollar Tree, thinking they were cute but unnecessary. After picking up a pack on a whim, however, I use them all the time. The inexpensive $1.25 lids have changed how I see and use my collection of jars for the better, somehow making them even more versatile.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n From the daisy-cut shaker tops to sturdy grid lids and hanging options with chains or handles, there’s a solution for all of my kitchen needs. The lids honor the original appeal of mason jars\u2014their sustainability and versatility\u2014while eliminating their limitations.\n<\/p>\n The silver grid lids have become a creative solution for displaying or holding herbs and flowers. My husband got me a monthly flower subscription for Christmas (the best gift!). I put most of the bunch into a vase for our kitchen or dining room, then use the jar lids to turn the remaining into miniature jar arrangements for our bathrooms or bedroom. I’ve also been using one to store herbs since the grid helps keep everything upright and fresh for days.\n<\/p>\n The daisy-cut lids, on the other hand, have transformed ordinary jars into shaker jars for dusting the counter with flour when I’m baking and for powdered sugar on desserts (or special treat waffles). They could even be used for things like freshly grated Parmesan cheese and cinnamon sugar.\n<\/p>\n I’ve always used mason jars for drinks like iced coffee and lemonade and just chased my straw around the rim, the daisy pattern keeps my straw in place while I sip\u2014and somehow makes the whole experience feel a bit more special. I can even see them being used as fermentation lids for fermenting sauerkraut or pickles.\n<\/p>\n It’s still cold in my neck of the woods, but we have an outdoor heater. After the kids are asleep, my husband and I will sit outside near the heater where I’ve used the hanging lids with chain attachments to create moody lanterns.\n<\/p>\n I can’t wait for the summer when our yard is in full bloom. These lids will be pure magic for outdoor living and entertaining.
