Links, patties, the Italian sausage in pasta and Zuppa Toscana\u2014however it\u2019s made, I\u2019m into it. There\u2019s something about the fatty, unctuous meat blended with bright, zesty spices that makes my tongue tingle with delight. Sausage is also incredibly versatile and can find its way into breakfast dishes like casseroles and quiche, or a hearty dinner stew.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_3-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Perhaps even more than eating it, I love tossing it into a pan and watching it bubble and render to a crisp, golden brown while the fragrant aroma wafts out of the pan and straight into my nose. It&#8217;s truly a can\u2019t-miss olfactory experience. It has a light spiciness that isn\u2019t overpowering and pairs nicely with other flavors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"heading-toc\" id=\"toc-why-i-love-aldis-appleton-farms-hot-pork-sausage\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"mntl-sc-block_7-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block lifestyle-sc-block-heading mntl-sc-block-heading\"> <span class=\"mntl-sc-block-heading__text\"> Why I Love ALDI\u2019s Appleton Farms Hot Pork Sausage <\/span> <\/h2>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_8-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> As a sausage fanboy, I\u2019m always on a mission to try different brands and flavors to see if they stand up to my very high sausage standards. So when I saw ALDI&#8217;s fresh Appleton Farms Hot Pork Sausage, I knew I had to grab a roll and bring it home to put it to the test.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> As a staunch advocate for the original Appleton Pork Sausage, I knew this one would likely be of similar quality, but as a hothead who craves mind-blowing spice, I wasn\u2019t sure if it would make the cut. At just over $3 for a one-pound roll, it was worth taking a chance, even if it didn\u2019t turn out to be as spicy as I wanted.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> To test out this tasty sausage offering, I broke it up into a cast iron skillet to gauge the aroma and browning capabilities. It delivered on both fronts with a vibrant scent of garlic and dried herbs. Before transforming the mass of cooked sausage into a luscious gravy to ladle on top of homemade biscuits, I snuck a quick taste (chef snacks for the win!) and was pleasantly surprised by the tame bit of heat.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> It\u2019s not a hit-you-over-the-head heat, which is great if you\u2019re spice-averse, but it was just enough to warm things up without being overpowering. The bits of sausage were meaty with an outer crispness that blended beautifully into the creamy, peppery gravy and buttery biscuit I put underneath.
