My 15-year-old son loves shopping at ALDI with me.\u00a0 Mainly because when he shops with me, he gets to pick things out to eat.\n<\/p>\n
He loves to eat, and recently, he couldn\u2019t get enough of a new product we discovered on the refrigerated shelves: Park Street Deli\u2019s new Pasta Entree Kit, Spaghetti with Meatballs.\n<\/p>\n
My son loves pasta, and his favorite pasta dish is spaghetti and meatballs. My husband is also a pasta fiend who always orders spaghetti and meatballs when we head to an Italian restaurant. So, without even opening up this fresh pasta kit, I was pretty sure this would be a winner dinner in my house.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n The kit, which costs $9.99, comes with three distinct packages inside: a sauce package, a meatball package, and a pasta package. The instructions call for either heating up on the stove or warming up in the microwave.\n<\/p>\n The first time we (and by we, I mean my son) tried this, we used the microwave method. Since my son was cooking, he didn\u2019t evenly spread the sauce, so part of my portion was a little crispy. I would recommend that you either follow the directions more closely or, instead, use the stovetop method.\n<\/p>\n The crispy problem was not an issue when I made the next package. I needed to make the next package right away because my son ate half of the pasta and ALL of the meatballs. There were 12 meatballs. I guess I didn\u2019t sit down fast enough. \u201cThey tasted really good, Mom,\u201d my son told me.\n<\/p>\n Once I actually got to enjoy the full experience of the meal kit, I can tell you that, yes, the meatballs are quite good. They’re on the smaller side, soft and meaty, and they tasted lightly of parmesan and garlic.\n<\/p>\n The sauce was a traditional red sauce made with garlic and basil, and it paired well with the pasta. I loved the freshly made pasta, and when cooked correctly, it was perfectly al dente.\n<\/p>\n According to the package, there are four servings. In my house, there was only one serving of meatballs, so I recommend getting two packages if you\u2019re in a meatball-loving household. That said, I think a package could easily feed a family of three people.\u00a0We eat a lot of pasta, so it\u2019s not quite four servings for us, even if my son didn\u2019t eat 12 meatballs by himself.\n<\/p>\n Park Street Deli also makes a fettucine alfredo with chicken meal kit that I can\u2019t wait to try.
