It’s because I appreciate French fries so much that I can’t stand it when they’re reduced to sad, mushy strips of potato. If made in the oven, frozen french fries can take close to half an hour to cook. By the time they’ve defrosted enough to be edible, it’s probably already been 20 minutes so it’s hard to wait even longer for them to crisp up.

Thanks to my impatience and LOC (love of crispness), I use a hack to make the fastest, crispiest, frozen fries: I microwave the frozen French fries before putting them in the oven. This cuts the baking time down from 30 minutes to 10.

Simply Recipes / Adobe Stock

How to Make the Best Frozen French Fries

Here’s how to use the microwave to make quick, crispy frozen fries.
