After a routine sampling performed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture revealed that some of the products contained Salmonella, Turkana Food pulled the product from grocers across 20 states. The United States Food &amp; Drug Administration (FDA) posted about the company\u2019s recall to warn the public that this item could cause severe health effects.\u00a0\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_18-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> According to the FDA, Salmonella are a group of foodborne pathogens (bacteria) that can cause gastrointestinal symptoms, including vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea (that may contain blood), fever, headaches, and rash. Those who have autoimmune conditions, young children, and elderly people are most at risk of serious, if not fatal, complications from Salmonella exposure.
