Public Health Alert Issued for Costco White Chicken Chili

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for Allen Family Foods White Chicken Chili with Bell Peppers, Corn, and White Beans. The agency issued the alert because the chicken was not reinspected when it was imported from Canada. The chili is sold by Costco.

There have been no reports of any health issues connected to the chili. The product was not recalled because you can no longer find it in stores. The goal of a public health alert is to inform consumers about a potential health issue when a recall isn’t recommended. That might be in cases when the source of an illness isn’t yet identified or if a product is no longer sold.

How To Identify the Chili

The chili comes in packs of eight and is labeled as a “microwavable meal-to-go.” It’s a pantry staple that does not require refrigeration. The chili was shipped to some Costco stores in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Although the chili is no longer available for sale, there’s concern that some products might be in consumer homes.
